Cooking Steps

Mix cake flour, baking powder and sugar in a bowl. Add softened butter and rub in until it resembles breadcrumbs.

Add egg and vanilla extract, mix until a soft dough forms. Do not overwork. Chill for 15 minutes.

Divide dough into balls. Flatten the cookie topping and place on top of each bun, scoring a crosshatch pattern.

Brush with egg wash and bake at 190°C (375°F) for 15-18 minutes until golden. Best served warm.
